Yusei Pack

So it now finally comes in TCG. Cool.

P.S. first comment WOOT!

danierulynx - 20. Nov, 20:59

All we have to do now is hope that we get a Jack Duelist Pack and an Aki Duelist Pack too, then we're set, :3
Malakai - 20. Nov, 18:28

best card ing the set is arms aid

Arms aid is a lvl 4 syncro. its a union monster that gives and extra 1000 atk and has a flame wingman effect.

best card in the set as far as im concerned

danierulynx - 20. Nov, 20:57

Yours is an opinion I'd love to agree with, as I consider Arms Aid to, conceptually, be awesome. The problem is that it's too much investment for too little a payout. Sure, 1000 ATK and a Flame Wingman effect for any monster is nice, but I'm having to give up two monsters to get it, and it doesn't even offer the equipped monster any protection, so one piece of removal and I'm losing a net total of four cards. I'd much rather just use Junk Attack.

Don't get me wrong though. I love the card, I just don't think it's a particularly good one.

Tuning Supporter, however, is damn nice. Draw power is always welcome, and the flexibility it has with regards to Synchro Summoning is awesome. Also, it being compatible with Machine Duplication is a big bonus, :3

Massive Warrior spits in Gyroid's face. FACT.

Give & Take certainly has its uses, although personally, I prefer Revival Gift (although Give & Take is better for anyone NOT Synchro Summoning Red Daemon's Dragon, XD).

What Limiter Break lacks in power it makes up for in spades in versatility. Sure, Special Summoning Speed Warrior isn't much of a big deal, but being able to do it no matter how Limiter Break hits the Graveyard is a big plus.

Oh, and ZOMFG, I'm giving my opinion, =O

I don't do that very often, XD

I don't mean any offence with regards to your feelings about Arms Aid though BTW. Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion.
ShiroRyu - 20. Nov, 20:03

Is that the actual box art?
Coz I would've thought UDE wouldn't put Stardust in it, like how they didn't put Rainbow Dragon in the TCG version of Johan's duelist pack.
But, if they want to, all the more power to us. :-)

I think Tuning Supporter is the best card in this set.
It's a level 1 OR a level 2, and it's a Machine with less than 500 ATK, meaning it can be anywhere between 3 and 6 level stars for a synchro summon if you throw in a certain spell card. ;)

Give and Take could be useful for Synchro Summoning too, plus if you give him a monster they don't want (i.e. a battle searcher) it's more advantage to you than it is to them.

Limiter Break could be neat too, if we could find a use for Speed Warrior.

Arms Aid I personally think is rubbish unless you recently Heavy'd your opponent. Your losing 2 monsters just to do a bit of burn damage. It might be better if it had the protective effect most Unions have, but still, I'd rather keep my two monsters ;)

EvilAzn - 21. Nov, 01:47

Your point about the Card Packet

Looks great how they're gonna keep Stardust and Junk Warrior in the set. Although I have a Stardust, I wouldn't mind having another. I just hope they stick to the 30 card set and not reduce it down to 25 like they did for Jaden and Jesse duelists packs.

I actually like what they did for Jaden (hate that name) because, I got an Ultimate Rare Lightning Golem and an Ultra Inferno Wing. But, they destroyed Jesse's pack coz there was no power in it after Pegasus and Rainbow Dragon were dropped.
Megda - 21. Nov, 09:53

Finally ARMS AID and Tuning Supporter on their Way XD

Wohooo ^^ The DP of Yusei will be a great expantion for my Low-LvL Synchro Deck, especially Tuning Supporter.

Will their a European Release to in January or later, because 5D will be broadcasted in 2009??

ShoDan - 21. Nov, 12:28

@danierulynx

Massive warrior doesnt spit in gyroids face, because's there one big difference between the tow. Massive warrior doesnt get destroyed by battle one per turn, and gyroid doesnt get destroyed period once per turn. And thats a big differce, gyroid still owns big.

And i a agree with you that arms aid is a damn risky card, you could lose up to 4 cards. But its more of a finisher, and how ofton do we get to see a level 4 syncro. And with psychics its easy to put on the field, with the spell card that can summon as many level 2 or lower psychic monsters from your grave, you can easily summon him and a stronger monsters and finish like a stardust dragon and deal the finishing blow. Its a cool card but not as good as g-gaurdian or most of the other syncro's.

And to be honest (no yu-gi-oh pun intended) this is kinda a lame pack, there's nothing that stands out in this pack that we havent already got. Tuning supporter isnt that great, yes it can be 1 or 2 but its not a TUNER. That means that you can only make a level 5 and lower most of the time, and who wants that. And nobody uses 3 monsters for one syncro summon, and expecially when rose warrior of revenge is damn cheap. And there's nothing more that we havent already got.

A rare bolt hedgehog, nitro warrior and turbo warrior suck. And there's nothing in this pack that anybody would really want, really a big let down. =(

danierulynx - 21. Nov, 14:04

That's a good point regarding Arms Aid and Psychokinetic Collection Machine. However, you're mistaken regarding Massive Warrior and Gyroid. Gyroid is only immune to BATTLE destruction once per turn, just like Massive Warrior. Aside from stats, the only difference between the two is that Massive Warrior protects you from Battle Damage too
Wysten - 23. Nov, 22:54

I would get it just for the common Junk Syncron and Speed warriors to be entirely honestly, no way am I getting a deck just for more of them to complete my plans. Heheh.

But yeah, Yusei's cards, excluding his main combos, are unexceptional and salutional at best anyways, I doubt he even uses the same deck in each duel, as aside from speed warrior, he keeps changing the line up of what he uses every other duel. Like his sudden introduction to Rock Warrior, a Malicous level 4, even though he has not altered his deck in the slightest since the series began.

Plus, even though he is meant to premote the fact that no card is useless, the only reason he carries his own weight in each duel is because the charcters draw whatever they want when they want. They always draw that card when they need them. So, unless that person was to make serious modifcations to their deck, they could never hope to seriously compete using the same decktype as him. Heck, spoilers below

Aki could have beaten Yusei their match, either keeping the 3400 attacker or simply by not trying to blow up everything the second time and removed copy plant to reduce Stardust's attack to 0, that would have been much more effective then to have your own card destoried.

Yusei basically thribes off the fact that the anime premotes deck stacking, there is no way that with his cards that he could pull whatever he wanted. Hence why the duelest pack is not that good, what cards has he used aside from Junk Warrior and Stardust have every been that good?
danierulynx - 23. Nov, 23:27

I want this pack (in Japanese, of course) for more than just Junk Synchron and Speed Warrior. I didn't pull Bolt Hedgehog, Nitro Synchron, OR Stardust Dragon in two booster boxes of TDGS, so I wouldn't mind a few copies of each, =P
hamsterworld - 23. Nov, 23:07

re Duelist Pack - Yusei

i'm indiffernt on this one I like seeing newer stuff on another hand I do have my hopes set on other things this year so to date dark legends is the number 1 this year becasue it does allot to get newer players intrested in differnt formats by making cards more afforable short of the other two items darklegends will keep intresting for awhile this however makes me feel as if where being stero typed though atleast Yusei cards are cool .

danierulynx - 23. Nov, 23:30

Pretty much everyone's only buying Dark Legends for Gorz anyway, XD

The problem with Dark Legends is that the cards everyone will be gunning for are still rarer than everything else, =S

Also, why the fuck do UDE keep reprinting Thunder Bolt? It's been banned for forever and is gonna' stay that way, XD

*ahem*

Anywho, enough off-topic ranting from me.
Pharoh_Atem - 24. Nov, 11:03

LOL

Thunder Bolt keeps getting reprinted because Konami and UDE are hinting that it's gonna be unbanned soon.

It wouldn't hurt too bad with all the OTK's, but with all the OTK's, it's even worse. LOL
Zardis - 27. Nov, 21:52

the set looks good, I hope they keep Stardust in

and what is Thunder Bolt? xD
danierulynx - 28. Nov, 00:01

Thunder Bolt is Raigeki's OCG name.
Zardis - 28. Nov, 17:26

ooohh

well, in that case, if it comes back then I think it would be Bye Bye DAD xD

DAD to banned list xD
Wysten - 28. Nov, 22:20

Thunder Bolt is a costless card that works for all decks, so it should never return, it would only enstrengthen the strong decks and offer false hope to the weak.

Besides, DaD is not that hard to defeat, the answers are all there, all it's strength is monster and spell effects with the odd solemn.

RainbowNeos - 30. Nov, 02:33

CHIMERATECH FORTRESS DRAGON IN ENGLISH!

they're making CHIMERATECH FORTRESS DRAGON IN ENGLISH (TCG) Shonen Jump JUMP-EN031, check it out if you want to pre-order it
http://www.ideal808.com/product.asp?ID=39240.

FilipGX - 4. Dec, 22:44

Yeah! They are not going to reduce the total cards to 25 :)
Why did they do that with the last 2 DP :(

RainbowNeos - 5. Dec, 02:37

Armory Arm?!

where do they get these stupid ridiculous name?!, Should have just left it Arms Aid

danierulynx - 5. Dec, 07:53

This time I agree, mainly because Armory Arm is in itself a rubbish name, XD

OH ZOMFGNUTS A PUN!

Just die UDE. Just die, ._.
TriforceMaster3000 - 5. Dec, 03:23

OMG

Armory Arm?! Why did they change the card name?! WHY?!?! It's such a friggin tragedy! Why UDE? WHYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!

*cough*sarcasm*cough*

Anywho, it's great that they're back to 30 cards. That whole 25 per set thing from the last two were nonsense.

Cosmos - 24. Dec, 02:08

Tuningware ????

It's so stupid to hear !!!

TriforceMaster3000 - 24. Dec, 06:05

LOL

Tuningware? LMAO! That's hilarious! xD I love me some fail. xP

Wysten - 24. Dec, 15:51

Tuningwear?

That name change is just raw fail, what difference is tuning supporter and that? I really hope that Komami is not the one making those changes. >_<; Or UDE is just being plain nasty with the name changes. lol
TheDarkAngelRocket - 31. Dec, 07:16

It's Always the Good Cards...

They always give the GOOD cards the worst names.

Tuning Supporter was just fine by itself; I would even settle for Tuner Support, but hell Tuningwear doesn't fit!!!

Upper Deck Entertainment, is this your doing?!
EliteKakashi - 31. Dec, 07:49

I know, right?

You may want to complain that to Konami. They are the one who edit and print cards. Upper Deck are who change card rarity and organize game play.
EliteKakashi - 26. Dec, 05:15

Hey shriek!

Back at Janime, the real TCG wording is there. Just I let you know or something.

shriek - 26. Dec, 14:41

ah, there it is XD
was to tired to look for them back then (it already was 3am so i didn't bother much @.@)
Dark Hunter - 19. Jan, 18:58

Delay

I hope Konami don't delay this too

ShinobiPhoenix - 23. Jan, 12:49

So much for Yusei on my birthday

It would have been great for the pack of my favorite new character to have continued release as planned on my birthday next week (yes, a Tuesday, but still), but alas.

It was to be expected, yet, no one was putting much focus on the other products that were being delayed. It's all been about Crimson Crisis and its Sneak. At least most of this should have blown over by the time Raging Battle comes out and not a chance this should have to affect Ancient Prophecy.

arapokemaster - 26. Jan, 02:39

I get the whole konami vs. ude thing is coming to a close and that konami is now in control of the North American territories. But why the need to delay this 2 times.
First it was January 17th,then January 29th okay we get it,it's delayed cause of the konami vs. ude issue. But jsut a few days before it's supposed release it was delayed again.Lol good thing they didn't delay Crimson Crisis 2 times.Shhhhhhhh that was an inside comment lol not.

ssj_duelist - 30. Jan, 10:21

Nothing special

The best card has to be Tuningware but nothing else seems really special or appeals to me. I probably wont buy many when it is released because I'll be buying the duelist pack tins.

bherrell2 - 2. Feb, 05:26

release date

Wasnt the release date for this product originally early January? Now since this KD and UDE thing they moved it back at least a month. Nobody was paying attention to that I bet lol.
kaidetsu - 19. Feb, 03:20

Man, this deck includes some pretty nice cards! i might actually waste my money on this xD

Forrenz - 21. Feb, 12:25

Wait for the Tin

I'm just gonna hold out for the Tin next month. The only cards in here I want besides the new stuff is just 'Battlemania' and 'Nitro Warrior'...
ssj_duelist - 25. Feb, 11:04

Same

I might get 1 or 2 packs but I'll just buy the tins. Not much worth it in this pack.
loco30 - 31. May, 19:01

competitive?

is yusei deck enough competitive?
