Wow... just wow.
I reckon this'll probably have some neat stuff in that never made it to the TCG like Makiu, Berfomet, Chimera, Multiply, and Mystical Refpanel, and reprints of cards that are hard to get like the Magnet Warriors. We might even get Gold Sarcophagus in this. :3 Maybe even those playable God Cards that the OCG are getting.

This makes me wonder whether there'll be a Duelist Pack Kaiba. :3

In a good way. Being able to have an exclusive Duelist Pack for Yugi is wowzers. But, if I think about it, Yugi's deck is mix with cards that don't flow and cards that are one-shot appearance cards like Berserker's Soul and Feral Imp.

What I'd like to see is this list I've compiled. I love guessing stuff and seeing how many things I get right. So here it goes.

Kudos to being realistic to the list, but no offense or anything its just I'd be really disappointed if those were the cards in the pack. I'd be all over cards like Dark Renewal, Mirror force, and hey look! Kuribohs! But none of them are particularly good aside from those. I was hoping, yet doubting that they'd yeah, remake some of yugi's cards, but at the same time, maybe make synchro stuff with it ya know? DMoC synchro, kuriboh synchro, DMG synchro, lol. I hope they do SOMETHING interesting with it.

There's a few other possibilities, like Polymerization, the Knights and Spellbinding Circle, but, except Magic Formula (which is really just an opportune reprint seeing as its English release was secret), they appear to be the most likely, especially considering how few OCG-exclusives of his currently exist. (Those are literally it I believe.) Also, a LOT of his cards were only used once. I don't expect to see once-offs like Gold Sarcophagus, Des Volstgalph, Griffore, Collected Power or Emblem of Dragon Destroyer here, nor do I expect any anime cards, especially since this is seemingly TCG-exclusive.

The only cards he used in GX that aren't in my list are Watapon, Mystical Elf, Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight, Slifer the Sky Dragon, Card of Sanctity, Magical Dimension, Thousand Knives, Dark Renewal and Shift.

Mystical Elf, Thousand Knives, Magical Dimension and Shift were only used like twice each (once in that duel and once in his series.) Card of Sanctity's anime effect is completely different to the actual effect, so is vastly unlikely. Dark Renewal is an anime card. Slifer the Sky Dragon isn't legal, so isn't likely to be reprinted. I didn't include Swift Gaia since I included Gaia, and I highly doubt both will appear in the same pack. Watapon, however, is likely. (Though I cut it due to space reasons from my list. It would probably go over Magic Cylinder or Magic Formula if it did get in, probably Cylinder.)

Since there are some Toon Cards that Pegasus used.....perhaps a Maximillion Pegasus DP should come at the same time of a perhaps Joey or at least Mai....

The only card that has been shown in his deck that doesn't exist in English is Grappler.

He also has a small amount of cards with TCG-unreleased alternate arts (Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Crush Card Virus, Vorse Raider and XYZ-Dragon Cannon.)

Though, I'd admit having reprints of cards like Vorse Raider, Kaiser Glider (which I believe is what Forrenz meant), Cost Down, Silent Doom and Fiend's Sanctuary would be very cool.

I doubt Dark Magician will have different art, the only one left is Arcana's sure, but it's not Yugi's (so why be in a Yugi pack?).

I'm guessing Dark Paladin and Dark Magician Girl would be the LE5 art.

I hope they do put OCG-only cards in it, as currently aside for collectors and people wanting retro cards (lol retro pack...), the only chase card really is Mirror Force, and that doesn't go for as much these days.

Sorceror's effect is neat - stopping trap cards at will (still allowing you to use those solemns, PWWBs, and so on), but yeah... it's rather high cost to bring him out compared to the fact he can go down easily to murmillos, celestias, rykos, in fact any light monster combined with honest.. in a trap-heavy deck it could work but then spellcasters and traps don't typically have great synergy.
All in all i'd rather just flip up a royal decree.

You can manage to summon him with Secret Villiage out on the field for complete spell/trap lockdown and keep your own. As for those pesky Honests Murmillos etc. Just run heavy Divine Wraths to prevent this.

Well the last cards for yugi still only in OCG is Mystical Refpanel, Berfomet, and chimera the mythical winged beast so the those will most likely be the new cards. most likely there will be no kaiba duelist pack since all his cards from OCG are in TCG. but thers a chance for joey since alligators sword alligator Dragon sword and battle warrior which sucks are still only in OCG

He has a few unnotable once-offs as well (Horn Imp, Griffore and Zombie Warrior.) There are also several cards he's used that have alternate art versions, some of which are likely here. (Other than Paladin and DMG, there's Celtic Guardian, Gaia the Fierce Knight, Kuriboh , Polymerization , and Summoned Skull. (There's also a minor variation on Big Shield Gardna, but I wouldn't really consider that an alternate art.) I'd say Celtic, Gaia and Skull are likely to appear here.

All I know is that SDM better be in foil!! That card SO deserves it!! That new Dark Paladin image is AMAZING! This is going to be great!

I wonder if we'll get Silent Swordsman LV 1?? Yugi did use him a lot in the last few episodes of the original cartoon. I would love to see it. Or a LV 9 Synchro monster?? That would be fun.

Mirror Force is meh......ok I guess, but they are easy to get these days. Then its going to give us all this old Spellcaster support, such as Chaos Sorcerer (prolly best card in the set), Paladin, and another Dark Magician reprint. Who cares? Yugi the first yugi series is the beginning of yugioh, are you guys nuts. This means that they hadn't thought of synchro, psychic, and elemental hero or destiny hero yet. So compare to today and the first or first t.v. series of yugioh, out of 100% of cards we had today, they probably has 25% of the cards. That why yugi and kaiba used crappy decks or cards. Cause 75% of the 100% cards didn't even exist than. If you use these card and travel back in time, you probably can't even use them in tournament and they probably says it fake or whatever. And the deck doesn't suck, just they had to even the cards out and it had to make sense. Everybody can have dark bribe or solemn. But in the t.v. show between kaiba and yugi, if this guy has solemn than other cannot have, if you get the point. Unless its card like monster reborn or pot of greed cause these most of the character have, that is with these card, they can make the duel longer or more insteresting. It like when you have no card, the game ends right but it doesn't yugi draw card of santity and pot of greed, to change the game. And the cards in t.v. is different than real life effect. So yeah they might have crappy deck compare to us, but that was back than. And one more than only character has blue eye and one has dm, that how it works! The end!

Alcana Knight Joker is the Fushion of King/Queen and Jack's Knight.

It has a decent attack and I think it can negate a Spell or Trap that targets once per turn, durring either players turn.

Not to sure, haven't seen it in a long while.

But yeah, I really do believe people are becoming too obcessed about the top teirs and forgetting about the roots of the show. Frankly, I love having a competive deck, but I also love the booster packs that will allow me to get hold of the older cards that I never will have held in the past and never had the chance to enjoy.

Sure, it won't win any sneaks, but it contains packs that get into touch of an older era, times when compertision was not the only thing on ones mind and allows us to collect older cards to make into tribute/fun decks.

Of course, people who compare it to the Yusei pack are being harsh, believe me, the Yusei pack was nothing but reprints of stuff we had barely recieved 3 months ago from a charcter who used genertic monsters and very condictional cards that contricted eachother and that we already recieved in Duelest Genisis. That pack was the pincicle of terrible because only a very limited number of cards were exclusive to that pack at the time of release.

This Yugi pack, while older, is undoubtably much better then that terrible pack, both in card charcter and useablity. I will enjoy getting in touch to a era most people will have forgotten.

wystern I agree with you, people are so obsessed in having a top tier deck, that they forgot one thing the made yu-gi-oh fun. It's how making different decks and seeing how to improve it. What's the fun of copying someone's deck or playing with someone who has the same deck as you?

I have like 20 decks. Sure, it includes Glads, tele-dad, monk-dad, lightsworn, but i barely use those. I still have my old deck when i started yu-gi-oh. Sure it's not fun to lose but you improve your deck, and see what its missing, and learn from your mistake, and correct it for the next one.

And for bherrell2, do you nothing nice to say? you want to know whats the point of this?

All you think about is top tier deck. What about people who's new to yu-gi-oh, this there chance to get a mirror force, marshmallon and those hard to get gadgets. And yes compare to the cards and yugi's deck. ofcourse yugi's deck would suck. it's common fucking sense, did they have a fucking glad beast in the past? or lightsworn? DaD? Yugi's deck relies on top deckers and protecting his dark magician during the battle city and onwards.

And what else? it gives collector like me, a chance to get a DMG alternate art. Summoned Skull sure it sucks now, but people in the past heavily relied on him. Just because they are old cards doesn't mean they were worthless, instead of acting a dickhead, think about other people who are new and could get a chance of getting those hard to get cards. who would pay $30 to but 3 machine-revolt structure just to get the gadgets.

Aye, though I would like to state there is nothing wrong with trying to be competive. Some games are rather fun on the competive level, just I generally do believe that logic is becoming warped. Mostly due to the fact that it's not a skill gap, but a resource gap that devides the games.

(For example, how is anyone in Europe expected to get Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon? It was only released in amercia. Making it expensive here, that in turn seprates the people that can afford to go on e-bay and lash £60 on a tro of cards and those who simply have better things to be buying in a credit crunch.)

Personally though, this is a fun pack, a link to the roots of the show, it should be treated as much. Most people know that Yugi is not competive in the slightest, but we can make fun decks out of this and hopefully get a few brillent cards out of it. Something for the old Yu-Gi-Monz fans to enjoy, Dark Magicain fans to actually get hold of Pladin, which was released somewhere close to the start of the game and more Mirror Forces to be thrown into cirlation for those people who had missed them during their first (and perhaps second, due to people often taking breaks from the game) release.

Just because you beat one deck, either due to your skill, a lack of theres or ran a very cheap, yet effective deck, does not mean you can beat every single one of them out there. Just try going against Lightsworn, that deck is just a nightmare against a player who remotely knows the rules, thats the only deck that litrally is 90% automated, 10% imput to give it some presition and you have a winning deck for a £1000.

BTW, is Joker's Knight supposed to be Arcana Knight Joker or Jack's Knight, because I find it weird if they place the former in since you need the latter for a Fusion Material. Also, they already printed out the latter as "Jack's Knight."

Perhaps I was wrong to put it like that, but you really do need to be intouch with a wide range of people to be successful in this game and have a good amount of trade bait. This game is imposible to get into the competive levels as a causal player due to prices. It is sad, but you need to have a E-bay account or a huge player focus to be good at this game, not to mention a large amount of cash to make a successful causal deck.

Sad? Yes, we have a competive range with some people thinking they are something special and the younger ages giving up because of the investment, but I reconigse the game for what it is, and it's hardly a well of skill to begin with. Though admitively it's got slightly better since they changed the way they raried the cards, after the main damage has been done.

You can't have a good dragon deck without considering Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon for example, you can't have a good Elemental Hero deck without a couple Prisma and Stratos and a catalog of their best fusions if your going for the fusion apporch. Feathers you could make, but the main synchro is worth £28 a pop...

His deck NEVER contained Chaos Emperor Dragon at any point. He also never personally used Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning. The two had no chance. The only cards I'm surprised at the pack not having are the Magnet Warriors and Magic Formula. I still plan to get a LOT of this pack when I'm able to, however. There is a great deal that I want, particularly EVERY Rare, Dark Paladin, Big Shield Gardna, Buster Blader and Catapult Turtle.

Magic Formula is already a card, despite this it is one of the hardest cards to get in a set, its a secret rare in Gladiators Assult which in that set they made the SCRs 1 out of every 36 pack, not the usual 24.

First off if it's secret rare as far as i'm concerned they have not released it that's number one they might as well have never put it out at all . number two no I did not exspect anything becasue of the dishonesty surrounding the yugioh name I stop thinking good things about this game after strike of neo's came out I'm surprized anyone has any secret rare on avarage I spend 5 dollars a week becasue of the economy I have never paid more than 5 dollars for a card becasue there nuts for what they want for some of these things, there just card board toy's I think the sooner the pepole priceing these things stop taking there medacations and in some cases start we will be better off.

The only reason I keep playing at this point is my friends play it allot and I like hanging out with my friends my parents are not rich my mom is a teacher my dad is a honest lawyer who doesn't make allot of money my family barely makes it's gotten so bad i can't play in any real tornaments becasue the rich kids have all the best cards i'm knock out by th 5th round every time.

...It's pretty obvious they don't have much going on upstairs. Everybody else here enjoys you being part of the community :)
I haven't bought cards since March, so I'm feeling a bit left out missing 2 whole sets already, but My Yubel still sticks by my side!

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but they made sure it says "Extra Deck" on 'Polymerization' :)
It's not a big deal, but I think it'd be pretty funny if they left it as "Fusion Deck" when it's been over 2 years after the change.

Ok, is anyone besides me looking at this pack as a complete waste of trees, ink, and electricity. There isn't a single new card in the whole pack. And the one chance they had to finally print the Arkana/Pandora art Dark Magician is wasted with an art that we already have 2-3 time over. This is what the card list should have looked like.

That would've made the most sense and money for everyone. The older players would've gotten the cards from the show that they've wanted. The tourney players would've gotten the Mirror Forces and such that they need easier, and if anyone still did draft tourneys, this pack would've been perfect for it. Instead we got the crap pack that they made.

Now if you'll exuse me I am going to go and buy a box of this set, and staple an Arkana art over every Dark Magician I pack.

Fixed rarities to something a bit more sensible. Also swapped cards around to a more sensible order (i think?), and swapped Brain Control for Diffusion-Wave Motion as Yugi used it more and it fits in better.

Yeah, I agree that this pack could have done with some OCG cards like Arcana and Refpanel. What they've done instead is treated the alternate art cards as 'new' cards, taking the rarity positions new cards usually take (with the exception of Mirror Force)
However we didn't get new cards, so we'll just have to live with it for now. Maybe they'll release them in a future release, maybe not.
